Tempted by amazing reviews of 'Tatting with Visual Patterns' by Mary Konior, I've decided to work my way through every project in this book. I think it's the only pattern book that I know of which is actually worth looking at as the handbook of advanced tatting techniques - and doing all the projects even, if they're not exactly our style or use techniques we don't really like. The wealth of information on every page - especially the little blue boxes - is just staggering. Which is probably why, when you look for this out-of-print book on Amazon, you find used copies for 200-400$.
Pierwsze trzy wzory z książki - Anniversary (Rocznica), Beaded Braid (Koralikowy Warkocz) i Black Magic (Czarna Magia) - w moim wykonaniu. Nić Aida 30.
First three patterns - Anniversary, Beaded Braid and Black Magic - made in Aida 30 thread:
Moja rada: przeczytać opis projektu 2-3 razy, razem z poradami w ramce obok, przed zabraniem się do roboty. Mój nadmiar entuzjazmu ('o, jest schemat, no to jazda!') zaskutkował błędami, których mogłam uniknąć gdybym poświęciła kilka minut na uważne przeczytanie uwag autorki.
My advice is - read the project description 2-3 times, including the tips in the neighboring blue boxes, before actually beginning. I, being overly enthusiastic ('oh, here's the pattern, let's have it!'), made loads of mistakes I could've avoided if only I had spent those few minutes carefully reading author's notes. Go figure.
